Seasonal entertainment with all the trimmings – jokes, slapstick and
lashings of audience participation – with the added delight of all the music
played live by multi-talented casts of 10 people – these rock pantos combine
the best of traditional pantomime with classic rock, soul and pop hits.
We are currently casting for various roles in these Christmas shows.
Seeking:
ACTOR MUSICIANS: M/F.
Excellent, versatile singing voices with wide ranges, good acting and
movement skills – and exceptional comedic skills, of course! Enthusiastic,
energetic and charismatic performers. ALL ROLES ARE FOR ACTOR-MUSICIANS.
Male and female actor musicians to play the young hero and heroine leads –
playing ages approximately 18-25 – (Beauty/Princess/Prince/Marion/Robin
types etc) – must be good actors, with excellent versatile singing voices
and ability to play at least ONE instrument from the list below to a
professional standard.
Male and female actor musicians of varying playing ages to play other roles
(including Dame/Fairy etc and Silly Billy/Cuddles the Monkey etc type roles)
to play at least TWO instruments from the list below to a professional
standard. Versatile actors with good comedy and energy and good singing
voices.
Dame – strong personality, comfortable with an audience, good sense of
comedy.
Baddies – male and female. Strong personality, comfortable with an audience,
excellent rock/pop voice.
Silly Billy types – appealing, engaging warm personality, with good sense of
physical comedy and strong rock/pop voice.
We are looking for a rock/soul band line up so the following instruments
will be required : guitar, drums, bass, keyboard, brass – sax, trumpet,
trombone. Please do not suggest artistes who do not play these instruments
to an appropriate PROFESSIONAL standard.
Please make sure you indicate clearly the detail of your clients’ musical
instruments and ability on their cv or covering letter if you wish your
suggestion to be considered. You must also make it clear on your submission
if they wish to be considered for only one of the venues. We are
particularly interested in casting artistes who have a local connection to
the venues, so please also make this clear in your covering letter. If you
do not specify a venue, we will assume they wish to be considered for all
contracts.
We welcome applications from artistes of all ethnicities/heritages for all
roles, and we are very keen to receive applications from actor musicians who
are deaf or have other disabilities, as we are committed to employing and
promoting these artistes who are under –represented in performance
companies.
